Process and procedure

The first step is to discuss your project needs and to determine which style of rendering you require. Watercolor, pen & ink, colorized pen & ink, tight or loose rendering style, finished size and time schedule. It is helpful if you can refer one of the example renderings which is most like the rendering style you are looking for.

The time required to render your project and the price depend on the complexity of the project as well as the rendering style needed. After discussing your project and needs I will give a final price and completion date before I start your rendering.

Please send your site plan, floorplan, elevations, roof plan and color/surfacing examples. Please send architectural plans rolled in a mail tube. Folded architectural plans are difficult to work with.

I begin your rendering by creating a pencil layout, then sending a copy of the pencil layout to you via an attachment to an email. After you approve the layout your final rendering is created.

The final rendering is sent to you in a digital format via the internet which is print media ready or web site ready.

Step 1: Pencil layout. This will be sent to you to approve the overall layout of the rendering.

Step 2: Pen & ink base rendering. This is done by hand with ink after you have approved the pencil layout.

Step 3: Pen & ink rendering is colorized using PhotoShop digital software and sent to you via an email attachment.
